STUDYING IN THE DORM ROOM IS A BIG MISTAKE:
6:00 plan to begin to study
6:35 actually begin to study
6:40 friends ask you to go to dinner
7:55 you begin to study again
7:56 phone call (incoming because it has two rings, and that means
it's off campus)
8:23 begin to study again
8:28 first study break
8:35 friends walk into your room and start talking
8:50 begin to study again
8:59 your second incoming phone call
9:18 you start to study in bed, get comfortable, get tired, and
take a nap
10:45 your friends wake you and tell you it's time for ice cream
11:35 re-begin studying
11:45 you see how much work you have to do
11:59 you call home stressed out
12:00 realize you just made a big mistake at 11:59 PM
12:25 get off the phone with your parents and realize it's time
to pull another all nighter
8:00 am next morning wake up tired, sleepy, exhausted, ready for
the same day all over again.
Where are you now? Are you reading this book in your dorm room?
Uh, uh, uhhh. If you were reading a school text book, you should
be in the library, but this book is easy reading, so don't sweat
it.
There are many good places to work without disturbances. Study
in the library, buildings on campus, and classrooms -- you'll get
a lot more work done in a lot less time!
